As Apple enthusiasts worldwide eagerly await the tech giant's next move, credible sources such as Mark Gurman of Bloomberg suggest that a new M3-equipped iMac is in the pipeline for release later this year. This next-gen all-in-one computer could transform the desktop scene with its enhanced power and performance.
The current 24-inch iMac, introduced in 2021, was the first to feature Apple's in-house silicon, a larger display, and a vivid range of colors. While retaining the same display size, the upcoming iMac will reportedly boast an even more powerful M3 chip, manufactured using a 3nm process.
Gurman indicates that Apple is already conducting production tests for the new iMac, which is in its advanced stages of development. Although mass production may not commence for at least another three months, the launch could still take place within the latter half of this year. As for aesthetics, expect to see the iMac in familiar colorways such as blue, silver, pink, and orange.
The upcoming iMac might also feature redesigned internal components and a different method for attaching its stand to the display. Apple's 2023 plans don't end with the iMac, though. Gurman predicts that the company will unveil a new 15-inch MacBook Air, an upgraded 13-inch MacBook Air, and an M2 Ultra chip-equipped Mac Pro.
The highly anticipated Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) in June could be the perfect stage for Apple to showcase the powerful M3 chip and its innovative mixed-reality headset. With so much in store, it's safe to say that Apple has a thrilling year ahead.
